ISRP standard for Respiratory Protective Equipment

ISRP 2002 ver. 1.0 certified Respiratory Protective Equipment – is this something we will see on respirators in the future?

During the last ISRP in Pittsburg the question was raised what ISRP could do to work for harmonizing the RPE standards in a shrinking world. Could ISRP create a standard for respirators? The aim should be to provide the user with more information about the performance of a respirator and in the long run to create a global RPE standard. It should also give ISRP a distinct and well known position on the market, resulting in more members and significant business oppurtunities.

Below is an outline of how such a standard could look. It should be seen as a contribution to the debate and therefor some parts of it can look like pure science fiction, especially to people who have spent some time of their life in various standards committees.
